Add ChatBouncer to GoDaddy Website Builder

GoDaddy's Websites + Marketing builder lets you add code with an HTML section on a page.

1 Get your ChatBouncer code

  1. Create your ChatBouncer account (14-day free trial) or log in, and set up your assistant.
  2. In your dashboard, open your assistant and go to the Widget & embed tab.
  3. Click Copy code. It's one line that looks like this (yours has your own key): <script src="…/w.js" data-key="pk_…" async></script>
  4. On the same tab, under Your website domains, add every address your site uses (your domain, for example yourbusiness.com) and save. The chat box only runs on the addresses you list.

2 Add the code in GoDaddy

  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll down, expand Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
  3. Go to the page where you want the chat box (your Contact page works well) and add a section.
  4. Search for the HTML section and select Add.
  5. Paste your ChatBouncer code into the Custom Code field.
  6. Set Forced Height to 650 pixels so the chat window has room to open.
  7. Your changes save automatically. Use Preview to check it, then publish your site.

Good to know: GoDaddy doesn't allow site-wide code, and it shows HTML sections inside a framed box. So on GoDaddy the chat box sits inside that section on that page, not floating on every page. Add an HTML section to each page where you want it.

3 Check it and go live

  1. Open your site in a new tab. The chat button shows in the bottom corner.
  2. Back in your ChatBouncer dashboard, press Go live so your assistant starts answering visitors.

Don't see the button? Check the address bar matches one of the addresses under Your website domains. If the chat box doesn't appear inside GoDaddy's section, email us your site address and we'll check it with you. Still stuck? Email [email protected] and we'll help.
