Guide
How to add an AI chatbot to a Wix or Webflow site. One line of code.
Wix and Webflow both let you add a chat box without touching a template file. You paste one line of code into the site-wide custom code setting, and it shows on every page. This guide covers what you need on each platform, how to get your chat box ready, the exact steps for Wix and for Webflow, and how to check it works.

Quick note on apps: ChatBouncer apps for the Wix App Market and the Webflow Marketplace are coming soon. They aren't live yet. Today, the way to add ChatBouncer to either platform is the custom code setting shown below. It puts the same chat box on your site.
Before you start: what each platform needs
Both platforms only allow custom code on certain sites. Check yours first, because it's the most common reason the steps below don't work.
| Wix | Webflow | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the code goes | Settings › Custom Code | Site settings › Custom code › Footer code |
| What your site needs | Published, with a connected domain | An active Site plan, or a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer Workspace |
| When it goes live | When you click Apply | When you publish the site |
| App | Coming soon | Coming soon |
You'll also need a ChatBouncer account. Start a 14-day free trial. You build and preview your chat box for free, and you can cancel anytime.
Want to see it on your own site first? Paste your web address into the free preview on the homepage. It reads your public pages and builds a temporary chat box you can talk to. No signup needed.
Step 1: Set up your chat box and teach it your business
The chatbot only answers from the info you save. That's what stops it inventing a price, a discount or a policy you don't have.
- Sign up and create your assistant.
- Give it your website address. It reads your public pages and pulls in your hours, prices, services and FAQs. You can also type your info in yourself.
- Read through what it found. Fix what's off and add what's missing.
- Open Preview chat and ask it what your customers ask: your hours, your prices, where you work, how to book.
If an answer is missing, add it to your info and ask again. When it doesn't have an answer, it should say the owner will confirm rather than guess.
Step 2: Copy your one line of code
- In your ChatBouncer dashboard, open your assistant and go to the Widget & embed tab.
- Click Copy code. It's one line that looks like this (yours has your own key):
<script src="https://chatbouncer.com/w.js" data-key="pk_…" async></script> - On the same tab, under Your website domains, add every address your site uses, then save: Wix: your connected domain, for example
yourbusiness.com. Webflow: your custom domain and youryoursite.webflow.ioaddress, if you test there.
The chat box only runs on the addresses you list. If someone copies your code onto another site, it won't load there.
Step 3a: Add the code in Wix
- Go to Settings in your site's dashboard.
- Click Custom Code in the Development & integrations section.
- Click + Add Custom Code at the top right.
- Paste your ChatBouncer line into the text box and name it ChatBouncer.
- Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages and load it on each page your visitor opens.
- Under Place Code in, choose Body – end.
- Click Apply.
Wix also asks you to give each piece of code a category for its cookie banner. ChatBouncer is functional.
Can't find Custom Code, or it won't save? Wix only allows Custom Code on a published site with a connected domain. Connect a domain first, then come back to these steps.
The short version of these steps lives in our Wix install guide.
Step 3b: Add the code in Webflow
- Open your Site settings and go to the Custom code tab.
- Paste your ChatBouncer line into the Footer code section.
- Click Save changes.
- Publish your site. The code doesn't go live until you publish.
Because it's in the site-wide footer code, the chat box shows on every page, including pages you add later. You don't need to add it page by page.
Don't see a Custom code tab, or the code won't run? Webflow allows custom code on sites with an active Site plan, or in a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer Workspace.
The short version of these steps lives in our Webflow install guide.
Step 4: Check it and go live
- Open your live site in a new tab, ideally a private window so you see it like a visitor. The chat button shows in the bottom corner.
- Check it on your phone, too. The chat box is built to look right on phones.
- Ask it two or three real questions.
- Back in your ChatBouncer dashboard, press Go live so your assistant starts answering visitors.
Don't see the button? Work through these in order:
- Is the address in your browser bar one of the addresses under Your website domains? That's the most common cause.
- Webflow: did you publish after saving the footer code? Saving alone isn't enough.
- Wix: is the code set to All pages and Body – end, and does your site have a connected domain?
- Did you paste the line once only? Two copies can load the chat box twice.

What it does once it's live
- Answers 24/7 from your own info. Hours, prices, services and FAQs, at 2 a.m. too.
- Doesn't make things up. When it isn't sure, it says the owner will confirm, takes the customer's contact and emails you the question.
- Lets a person take over. Reply to a chat from your dashboard and the AI pauses while you handle it.
- Bounces the junk. Spam, abuse, off-topic requests and prompt tricks get turned away.
- Protects your bill. Message limits per visitor, per IP address and per business, and it only runs on the domains you allow. On a paid plan, extra messages are $15 per 1,500, capped at $300 a month.
Which plan fits?
Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, and prices are in US dollars.
| Plan | Price | Websites | Customer messages / month | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29/mo | 1 | 1,500 | Human takeover, 1 team seat |
| Pro | $59/mo | Up to 3 | 5,000 (shared) | Slack & Zapier, 3 team seats, PDF & Word knowledge (up to 15 docs), priority email support |
| Business | $119/mo | Up to 10 | 15,000 (shared) | Everything in Pro, 10 team seats, up to 50 docs, white label |
One site? Starter covers it. If you build Wix or Webflow sites for clients, Pro covers up to 3 sites and Business up to 10, and Business can hide the "Powered by ChatBouncer" branding (white label is Business only). See full pricing.
Questions
Is there a ChatBouncer app for Wix or Webflow?
Not yet. Apps for the Wix App Market and the Webflow Marketplace are coming soon. Today you add ChatBouncer by pasting one line into the platform's custom code setting (Wix: Settings › Custom Code; Webflow: Site settings › Custom code › Footer code).
Does it work on a free Wix site?
The Custom Code method needs a published Wix site with a connected domain, so it won't work on a site without one.
Does it work on a free Webflow site?
Webflow only allows custom code on sites with an active Site plan, or in a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer Workspace.
Will it slow down my site?
The script loads with async, which means it loads after your page instead of holding it up.
Do I need to add the code to every page?
No. On Wix, choose All pages. On Webflow, the site-wide Footer code covers every page.
Can I use Google Tag Manager instead?
Yes. Google Tag Manager uses the same script line: one Custom HTML tag, trigger All Pages. Use only one method, so the chat box doesn't load twice.
What does it cost?
Plans start at $29 a month (USD), with a 14-day free trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged.
